Back History

In October 2008 the RBL Long Ashton Club hosted a Trafalgar Night to celebrate the 60th  Anniversary of the Long Ashton Women’s Section Branch.  During the evening the Club presented appreciation certificates and flowers to Mrs Ivy Buxton, Mrs Rose Carr and Mrs Kath Sidwell.

At the Women’s Section AGM last November there was insufficient support shown at the meeting for the Women’s Section to continue as a viable Group.

At the Special General Meeting winding up the Women’s Section held on January 10th a number of members showed an interest in keeping the Long Ashton Women’s Section alive and so a  new committee was formed and arrangements  were made with Royal British Legion to suspend the winding up procedure.
